    Job Description

    The primary roles of the floor manager will be to lead the cafe employees during daily operations and to ensure quality products, efficiency and customer satisfaction. We serve organic juices and smoothies, breakfast foods, gelato, coffee and have a nice retail market place. It is a full-time, year-round position with strong preference for afternoon/evening closing shifts. The floor manager will work closely with the general/office manager and the owners to create a positive atmosphere while keeping the staff on task and well-trained. We like to have fun while keeping our cafe flowing efficiently. Other duties include:

    --Follow all duties and responsibilities outlined for all cafe employees

    --Knowledgable about all aspects of menu (food, beverages and other)

    --Closing checks of store to ensure everything is ready for the next shift

    --Discuss employee issues, ordering, events, etc with GM and owners

    --Learn and assist with POS system (cash counting, meal comps, refunds, questions)

    --Knowledgable about general cafe policies and health/safety policies

    --Ability to learn and adhere to safety standards (FCHD and OSHA)

    --Assist management team in staff meetings, evaluations and goals

    --Flexibility with schedule to work some AM shifts or fill in for sick employees, etc

    Specific duties outlined in interview process.

    Education and work experience:

    --One year or more of cafe/restaurant experience (FOH and BOH), preferred

    --One year leadership or managerial experience, preferred

    --High school degree or GED, required

    --Some college or college degree encouraged but not required

    --Barista experience encouraged

    --Cooking/griddle experience encouraged

    --ServSafe certificate or Food Handler's card, preferred (or obtained shortly after hire)

    Job Types: Full-time, Contract

    Pay: $35,000.00 - $41,600.00 per year
