    • About

Here to help with all your housing, rental and home ownership needs.

The Whitefish Housing Authority (WHA) has a significant mission to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing to the community of Whitefish.

Our aim is to maximize the utilization of our existing Public Housing facility to offer suitable accommodations and support participants of our Housing Choice Voucher Program. WHA is deeply committed to constructing additional affordable/workforce housing units in the City of Whitefish. We are resolute in providing assistance to Whitefish residents with their housing needs and strive to provide effective leadership and management for safe, decent, and affordable housing. Our objective is to enhance public awareness and support of housing programs and achieve success in our efforts to serve the citizens of Whitefish and our surrounding community. We firmly believe that our commitment to accountability and dedication will enable us to accomplish our mission efficiently.

Public Housing was established to provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Public housing comes in all sizes and types, from scattered single-family houses to high rise apartments for elderly families. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administers Federal aid to local housing agencies (HAs) that manage the housing for low-income residents at rents they can afford. HUD furnishes technical and professional assistance in planning, developing, and managing these developments.
