Glacier National Park Wildlife Biologist Lisa Bate talks about bats in our ecosystem. Bats make up one fourth of all mammalian species found on Earth. They range in size from the tiny bumblebee bat—weighing less than a penny—to the flying fox bat, which can have a wingspan of up to six feet! In Glacier National Park, biologists confirmed the presence of 10 bat species. Glacier Wildlife Biologist, Lisa Bate, will discuss the importance of bats to our ecosystems, some of the threats bats face, and what we can do at home to support these special night creatures.
