Julie Mullins of Explore Whitefish
Mariah Joos of Nelson's Ace Hardware
Jennifer Saucier co-founder of Elebase, Fir & Larch Creative Studio, and founded Old Town Creative + Interactive.
In honor of Women's History Month in March, we are proud to celebrate the women of Montana. Join us for an in-person Speaker Spotlight Event on March 15, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Whitefish Community Center. Three community speakers will engage in a panel-style discussion sharing their insights on Community Impact and Resource Availability.
We are proud to introduce IWD406 Spotlight Speakers for this event:
Julie Mullins of Explore Whitefish. Julie praises Explore Whitefish for preserving the community's culture. Mullins, with over 20 years of experience in Destination Management Organization, emphasizes the importance of strategic messaging for sustainable tourism. Explore Whitefish focuses on community sustainability and initiatives like the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan and "Be a Friend of the Fish" campaign. Mullins aims to promote conscious tourism and maintain Whitefish's livability.
Jennifer Saucier is a Montana-based designer, entrepreneur, and community leader. She owns Fir & Larch Creative Studio, co-founded Elebase, and founded Old Town Creative + Interactive. Active in local initiatives like the Whitefish Farmers Market, she served on the Whitefish City Council and contributed to the Whitefish Sustainable Tourism Management Plan. Recognized as a top young professional, she enjoys outdoor activities with her family and has deep roots in farming and logging heritage.
Mariah Joos of Nelson's Ace Hardware, a staple in downtown Whitefish for 70 years, was started by Wilfred and Ruth Nelson in 1947. Rick Nelson took over in 1972 and expanded the store to 6,000 square feet. Facing parking challenges, they decided to move to a larger 14,000 square foot building on U.S. Highway 93. The new location will offer more display space, solve parking issues, and be energy efficient. The family business's success is attributed to owning real estate, community support, and neighborly relationships. The move to a new location is seen as a positive change by customers.
Please let us know about your experience with this event and we are looking forward to future honorary Speaker Spotlight Events for IWD 406
