'Laying the Foundation' for success ... Workforce Housing Summit set for March 13
After years of groaning, griping and hand-wringing over the shortage of affordable workforce housing in Whitefish, we're finally starting to make some progress ... and that'll be the focus of this year's Workforce Housing Summit, set for March 13 at Grouse Mountain Lodge. "Laying the Foundation" is an appropriate theme for the lunchtime event, as that's what the folks at the City, Chamber, Housing Authority, CVB and Housing Whitefish have been doing for the last few years. Now it's time to start making a difference! Join us on March 13 to hear what's been accomplished since our last Summit two years ago ... and about the new workforce housing programs, projects and developments that are coming our way in 2024 and beyond. What works ... and what doesn't Also on the agenda -- a panel discussion featuring local business owners, developers and organizations that are already building workforce housing ... sharing their success stories and looking to the future. We'll also hear from local housing advocacy groups about what they're up to and how you can get involved ... and wrap things up with an overview of the City's ongoing Growth Policy Update process, and how that'll affect our ability to house local workers in the future.
